Sales Executive

Selling digital media software to media companies and brands

Location: Flexible

Job Summary

We're looking for a seasoned, high-energy, and driven Sales Executive with strong knowledge and experience of software as a service (SaaS) technology, and value-driven sales. We're seeking someone with a background in SaaS, Enterprise Software, in particular selling to Media Companies with strong experience in B2B prospecting, lead generation, and a proven track record closing sales and over-achieving quotas. Ideal candidates will be excited to join an early stage company that has already shown sales traction and increasing revenue trends.

This candidate will be joining one other full-time Sales Executive and a team of three executives.

Job Description

This is a newly created role and you will be running your own territory with a strong management and product team supporting you. The goal of this role is to focus on selling our products to US based media companies (Magazines, Newspapers, TV / Web companies) and brands. Our products are being used today by the largest media company brands in Canada and the USA. Your home base is flexible and you will be mainly calling into the US market, travel will be required. You will be proactively managing and building a territory where you will be creating and closing leads and responsible for a revenue target. You are a driven sales professional with a strong command of sales methodologies and how to work a sales funnel. You are passionate about digital media and have a strong personal interest in social media. You have sold digital media software to US Media Companies and Brands in the past with success in hitting your targets. We’re looking for those that are passionate about customers, closing deals, technology and have strength in presenting business value. Primary responsibilities for the Sales Rep are:

  • Drive revenue through new client acquisition and build a pipeline while meeting revenue goals.
  • Own, manage, and drive the full sales cycles from first contact through contract negotiation/close while ensuring happy and referenceable customers.
  • Dig in and be hands on in learning the product and leverage your multi-channel presentation skills through product demonstrations via web-based presentations and in some cases in person.
  • Develop and manage relationships with media companies (TV/Print/Magazines) with a primary focus on the USA.
  • Engage and strategize with media companies to determine their business needs and formulate the correct proposal to win new business.
  • Maintain updated sales records and prospect status in salesforce.com.
  • Forecast sales activity, revenue achievement, and update activity/prospect status in weekly sales meeting.
  • Occasional travel in the USA for conferences, presentations and relationship building activities.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 3-5+ years experience selling software or technology solutions, services, or applications and account management expertise.
  • Strong experience building a pipeline, qualifying, and identifying deals you can close.
  • Relationships with media companies and brands preferred.
  • Demonstrated strength in building and managing relationships along with presenting to a diverse audience from business champion, technical teams, to C-level executives.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the full sales cycle from prospect, demo, contract negotiation and through close of initial deals and renewals.
  • Successful experience selling into diverse companies including web services, enterprise or mid market accounts.
  • Competency in strategic thinking and demonstrated success in developing successful sales pitches is a must.
  • Strong presentation and closing skills based on field experience with major accounts.
  • Strong conceptual and consultative sales skills and the ability to position the full suite of Filemobile products against competitors.
  • Skillful negotiator in tough situations with clients; can effectively settle differences with minimum disruption to relationships and the process.
  • Enjoy hunting new business and winning new accounts.
  • An individual who is known in the marketplace and brings established contacts a plus.
  • Ability and vision to creatively execute company and team goals.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Strong computer skills, including Salesforce.com, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel (10% of the job).
  • University/College degree in business/marketing is required.
