
March 3, 2011, Toronto, ON - Transcontinental's Canadian Living brand has launched the 2011 IAMS Most Lovable Pet Contest. This popular contest, now in its third year, asks pet owners to share a photo or video of their best animal pal. The contest is broken down into categories for cats, dogs and other pets and asks people to leave comments and share the content on public social networks. The contest entry deadline is Monday, April 4th, 2011. At the time of this writing, 3,000 + entries have been received. All the entrants are competing for almost $5,000 in prizes. There is a prize for the winner in each of the three categories plus a random winner.
Filemobile's UGC Contest application was used to power the experience with Canadian Living's digital team creating the look and feel and implementing the design into the contest application.

May 31st 2010 - Toronto, Ontario - Transcontinental's Canadian Living is running a contest called the Reitman's Shape Over Contest. Now in it's final phase the contest has received over 1,800 participants. They have asked the entrants to tell everyone about their wardrobe challenges— such as "ever feel like your arms are too long or your legs are too short? We want to hear all about it!".
The opening round of entries ended on April 11th, and the judges chose 12 candidates all who received a $200 gift certificate for clothes at Reitmans. The candidates had to go and by three outfits, and take pictures for the last round of judging. Starting on May 24th, each week, photos highlighting the three different outfit styles will be revealed: (at home, at work, and out on the town). The finalists with the most votes will move on to the following week. At the end of the three weeks, the three finalists with the most votes will become the grand prize winner.
Transcontinental team of designers skinned Filemobile's Media Community allowing them to offer the contest in English and French with a custom look and feel.

In January of 2010 Transcontinental Media's Homemakers Magazine launched a user generated contest called "I Knew it was Love When..." which asked Canadians to submit their love story. Canadians responded and have upload's 1,000's of love stories. The contest is now in it's final stage with ten stories chosen as finalists. Over the next 5 weeks Canadians can vote once a day for their favorite love story.
Homemakers.com's "I Knew it was Love When" was designed and skinned by Transcontinental Media using Filemobile's User Generated Content Contest application. This application allows contest contestants to upload photos and videos, and lets people add comments and share their favorites with friends.
Check out the love stories on Homemakers.com, and vote for your favorite before March 30th, 2010. Winners will be chosen and announced on April 6th, 2010.

Transcontinental recently posted an article highlighting their latest contest and the results. Transcontinental's 'Canadian Living' produced this successful 'Pet Contest', which leveraged Media Factory's UGC Contest tools and features.

The Hockey News audience will now be able to create a public profile and will be able to leave text comments or webcam comments.
