Mix08, Las Vegas NV. The opening keynote highlighted on Microsoft's focus on advertising and online video.

The showcase example of this will be the NBC announcement of their plans for the Beijing Olympics that begins in August 2008. Using MS Silverlight, all 2,200 hours of live olympics content will be made available online, live as well as available on demand and in a variety of formats including widescreen. This will include interactive content integration in areas such as athlete bios, sporting event backgrounds and varieties of advertising integration.

Some interesting ideas for new ways to interact with content that originated in the 'real world'. The case study was Hard Rock Cafe with their huge library of rock and roll memorabilia. Hard Rock worked with Vertigo (a design agency) and a technology called Deep Zoom to build a fully interactive experience online with the full Hard Rock library.
